France-based website holding company Webedia has closed a deal with the independent media producer and distributor Endemol Shine Brasil. The partnership will see the production and distribution of a reality show created by the Brazilian branch of Webedia, the Ultimate Legends Training (ULT). Endemol Shine Brasil is mostly known for its reality show products, such as Big Brother and MasterChef.
The ULT is an esports show produced since 2018 in Brazil by Webedia, which owns the rights of the gaming news website IGN in Brazil. It features new League of Legends talents competing and showcasing their abilities for a chance to join one of the main esports organizations in the country. According to the company, in 2018, when it was named Gillette ULT for its master sponsorship, the show generated 2.4M views in its five episodes, making a total of 627K hours watched. With Endemol, the plan is to enhance the production quality and make more episodes.
The partnership also aims for the production of a second edition of the reality show in Brazil, but the deal has an international reach and will be valid for the making of ULT in other markets. However, a representative for Endemol told The Esports Observer that the only project planned to date is in Brazil. Expected to happen still in 2020, the production still did not announce its sponsors, but talks in that area are still underway.
