343 Industries has clarified that the Halo TV project is completely independent of the studio’s work with Halo Infinite, according to IGN. The clarification comes in light of recent reports by Thurott claiming that the Halo TV project was meant more as a distraction from the development of Halo Infinite.
“343 Industries has a devoted transmedia team that is working with Showtime on the creation and production of the Halo TV show. This group is separate from the Halo Infinite development team. These are two completely independent projects with dedicated teams and leadership that do not impact one another,” the spokesperson said in a statement to IGN.
According to the report by Thurrott, a large part of Halo Infinite’s development is outsourced to third-party developers, causing the release of the game to get delayed. Halo Infinite was originally set for release alongside the Xbox Series X, but has since been delayed into 2021.
